The Blend festival was set up and launched in 2003 as part of the newly opened Tolbooth’s commitment to the traditions of music.
Over the past eight years the festival has developed a strong and important ethos and brand locally and nationally for supporting the continued development of Scottish traditional music.
The festival has also nurtured a distinct focus on the other roots from around the world, juxtaposing world traditions with Scotland’s own.
This year's The Blend Extra takes that even further.
